 Today Religious Education ( RE) we were talking about The Liturgical year. Before that we had an activity that had sentences that were cut and we had to math them up with the other half . After that we made google drawing explaining  what advent means with pictures and words . Here is my activity below .   

Rapid Recount on the Liturgical Year.

WALT: Recognise that the Advent reading from Isaiah helps people hope for the Messiah and remind them to prepare for his coming.

1. The penitential or preparation seasons of the Liturgical year are Advent and Lent.

2. The Liturgical years begin each on The first day of Advent.

3. The most important feast in the Liturgical Year is Easter, the day of Jesus Christ'

4. Resurrection.

5.   The colour you would see featuring in church decorations during Ordinary time is Green,

6. the colour of hope.

7. In the homily, the hymns and the Scripture readings for Advent, the theme is Green, the

8. colour of Hope.

9. The Sunday scripture readings are set out in a three year cycle - Years A,B,C

10. The Liturgical cycle of the Catholic Church is shared with people in the liturgical

11. celebrations in Church Communities.

Stories About Mary - Luke 39 - 56- Part 2.

Today i class we carry on listing and telling Stories About Mary, today's scripture  is luke 39 - 56. This scripture is about Mary going  to visits Elizabeth  (sister).  if you want to read this scripture here is the link  luke 39 - 56 . and check out my activity below and my writing. Here is my activity. 

 In this Scripture Luke 39 - 56  Mary Visits Elizabeth, we find out that Mary rushed to a town in the hill’s Jeuda. When Mary entered Zechariah's home, Elizabeth greeted Mary and said “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the child you will bear!. As  soon as Mary heard the greeting  baby Jesus leaped in her womb.

Lastly the scripture tell us that Mary stayed with Elizabeth (sister)  for about there months.  

Stories about Mary.

Today in RE TWP 5 and i have learnt about Stories about Mary, The first picture we read was Luke 26 - 38. We had fun learning about Mary , I have done and activity below, and i have put the link to the scripture luke 26 - 38. If you want to see what i have done check done below. Here is my activity

  

In  the scripture Luke  28 - 38  the birth of Jesus foretold, we find out about Mary’s first encounter with God. An angel called Gabriel is sent by God to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to tell Mary that she will give birth to a baby and his name will be Jesus. Mary is overwhelmed with the news and does not know whether she believes him or not. We know Mary feels like this because in the reading it says “But she was much perplexed by his words…”

Then the angel Gabriel  was talking about the baby Jesus's future and how powerful he is going to be.  Jesus will the power of the Most high and will overshadow you, and that he will reign over  Jacob descendants.  THe lord God will give him the throne of his father David. We know this because in the scripture it tells us “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High”...”      

Lastly the scripture tells us  that Mary turends to god and puts her trust into god's hand. We know this because it  says “May your word to me be fulfilled.” 

Communion of Saints - St. Patrick.

 Today  in Religious Education i have learnt about St. Patrick. Do you know that i learnt that St.Patrick  was born to Roman parents in Scotland or Wales in the late fourth century.  We are learning this because we want to know more about saints  and how they grew up.. All Souls Day

 On Monday the 2 of November Saint Pius X Catholic school had a big mass for All Souls day. Did you know that All Souls Day is  on the 2 of nov and  and all  saints Day is on the 1 of November. I have learnt why we celebrate all souls day because you can pray for you love ones. Here is m Activity. 

Dance With Madide - Footsteps

 Today  We learnt a dance with Maddie our dance teacher we used a song from an old movie called Men In Black. We made a dance to it and there was this moved called after my brother it was the huit groove it was pretty funny but it was a cool name for a dance move  Here is the link to the song Men In Black. Math STarters - Mathletics- Whole Numbers and Place Value .

 Today in math we started off with some  mathletics for the day then i went on one of my activity that i haven't done and it was Whole Numbers and Place Value. I haven't done this but i have learnt some of it last year. Labour Weekend

 Today in class i have wrote my  labour weekend my labour weekend is about my sisters 18th birthday. I had fun writing about this. This piece of writing is recount. What did you do in you do for labour weekend?Here is my Recount.

On the 26 of October  on labour day it was my sister’s 18th birthday. I woke up at 10:00 and went and got ready for her birthday then my mum and whole family woke up and got ready. When I was finished getting ready to do my hair, we went and got the cake and cupcakes from my nana’s house and went to the cemetery.

When we arrived at the cemetery my nana came and then all my cousins came too and then my ants came then we prayed to god to wish my sister the best birthday that she can and wish my dad the best birthday too in heaven. When we finished we sang happy birthday to her and blew her candles on the cake and then we went back home.

When we were about to go home my nana stopped and called to get some food and she said “ get KFC” my mom said “ yeah sure” so we went and got KFC. When we got home and set up the two tenets and the decorations. The decorations were set up nicely and they set out the food and we sat down and said prayer  and ate the food.

When we finished eating we went to the park and played tag for a bit and then we played three games of basketball and then we went back home and showered and came back outside. We played some soccer games then we went inside and went to sleep. The End             

Math Starters - Mathletics -Partition and Rename

 Today in class in math we started off with some mathletics. Mathletics is a math program that helps you learn new things in math and it also give you quests to do. I did Partition and Rename 2 at first i did not know how to do it but when i kept trying i did get it. Do you know what i learnt today is to never give up and keep on trying. Here is my activity. Solving problems using Adding Subtracting,Multiplying and Dividing .

 Today in math my class and I separated into into three groups and each group got a book one group got a red book and yellow book a green book. We each  got activities to do i got the red book. The WATL was   Solving problems using Adding Subtracting,Multiplying and Dividing.I did 2 pages of activities the page was 140 - 141 the questions were easy but some was challenging for me. But i knew that it would help me with my math,  and that it would be something new to learn. Time with Family.

 Today we have been writing about time with our family. I wrote about the time when  my family went to my cousins birthday. I had really fun going there and writing about it. You can share you thoughts in  the comments and what you think about my piece of writing  Here it is.

In the evening, on Monday  the 19th of october. My sisters,mum,dad,brothers,aunties, cousins and I celebrated one of my cousin's birthdays when she was turning 13 years old. My family and I got ready and hopped into the black car and went there.

After we got there we walked in and my aunt and cousin  were still setting up, so i went and played with all my cousins, then one of my cousins said “ let's go watch TV” so we went  and watched youtube.  After that i went and checked if they were done setting up and they were almost so i went back to watching youtube.

Later when they were finished and when i went it looked amazing there were balloons everywhere  the colors were pink and there was even a dessert table, and of course the cake was a chocolate cake and there was caramel inside.

Later sang happy birthday to her, and then she sliced the cake and the caramel came out and it came out slowly. Before eating we eat normal food, when we are finished eating we get some desserts. I got a brownie and a piece of chocolate. I didn’t have any cake because I was fuel.

Finally we packed the food that my aunt gave my family and we put it in the boot of the car we went home and we were so tired so we went to sleep. The End  

   

RainBow End - Times With friends - Recount Writing Trem 4

Today during class we had a recount writing test. This writing test is a recount and the topic was times with your friends so i picked when i went rainbow end with my two friends Sia and Tomas. I planed on a piece of paper  and wrote my story on my netbook. I really had fun writing this. Here is my piece of Writing.   

On Thursday the 1st of october my friends Sia, Tomas and I went to Rainbow End. We hopped in the red car that my aunty was going to dive,  she was the one that drove us, it took 20 minutes to get there. When we got there  we saw the huge sign that said ‘RainBow End.’ We took some picture’s there. I was really excited to go on all of the rides and see what new rides they have or not . We went inside and got our wristbands and we entered to see all of the rides.

The first thing that we did was we went on a ride the ride called  the Log Flume. The Log Flume goes on a  journey through the Enchanted Forest, and makes sure you are ready for the plunge at the end! When we went down I got wet but Sia, Tomas and I  still had fun.  The next thing that we did we went on another ride that was Gold Rush it goes through a haunted gold mine dodging with falling beams and we went on that ride and in the end there was this humorous explosion.

Later we were going to go on another ride but then i semlled hot chips and cotton candy so i asked Sia “ can we go get some hot chips and cotton candy” she said “ sure we can'' so we went and receive the hot chips and cotton candy we came by a table and we went and sat down and ate  our hot chips and cotton candy. After That  we went on another ride it was called the Power Surge the power surge goes  around and around and around and then it speeds up and speeds up again until you are up in the air sipping as fast as you can. I almost passed out on that ride, then we went on the Ivander the invader is a thrilling ride that’s sure to get you up! 

Finally  we had enough rides for today so we went back home showered and went to sleep. I loved  all of the rides that we went on. I even loved the food and the most thing I loved was hanging out with my friends. I would really love to go there again. The End

Niue Language Week

Today my class and I have done and activity this activity is about cook island language week.  I have done this activity with a panther. We have done a fact file about cook island we have work hard and we have put a lot of work and we have fun with it to. We have done and other activity this other activity is about greeting others like greeting one person and greeting more than three and  greeting two person's. Did you know that coconut  can be used in different ways like coconut shells and make boats,jugs,jar . Here is my activity.

 Today for math starters we were doing Table  Torture. I completed and activity in this activity  there are different difficulty  and i made my own difficulty. So table torture is when you can pick a difficulty or make your own. The press the play button and start  figuring out the questions. When your done then mark your questions. New Zealand Shake Out.

 Today at 9 : 30 Am  Saint Pius X and other  schools did a shake out drill. So did you know the there are different type off ways  of how the tectonic plates  can meet three different ways like one way is two of the plants meet and one goes down and other goes up, and another way is  they  came together and  sild side to side and the last way is ther they create and mountain. I have done an activity there are interesting facts and Questions of how you do a shake out and what is a shake out. Here is My activity.

As I Saw It Create Writing - The Life of the Paintbrush On the Endeavour.

Today i have written and Create piece of Writing, let me tell you how i felt about writing this. I felt like i was in my own world and that i was the paintbrush in tupaia hand. I was the paintbrush that Tupaia borrowed from Sydney Parkinson. Here is my Create Writing

It was a day that I haven't forgotten. I am a paintbrush.

I am used to painting famous  paintings.

I have been buried under the sand for 251 years

at Mercury Bay. 251 years ago I was  getting carried

by a human. He had brown skin, his hair was smooth and

cool, and I think he was Māori. I felt his hands pick me

up and he carried me to a canvas and started painting.

When he was finished I thought it was a picture of

Māori trading Kōura. I was so tired I went to sleep and

when I woke up I heard a big cannon go off. “BOOM!” I

flew off the table.

I woke up and realised I was laying down on the sand at

Mercury Bay. I remembered how I was buried.

When the cannon went off my person hid me so I could be

safe. After 215 years I was acquired by a human figure

who put me into the Auckland Museum. Next thing I know

I was put in a brown bag with other objets.

I saw four blue glass beads, a mirror and all

sotros of other things, and went for a long

ride then we stopped at Saint Pius X Cathioclic School

 I got off thinking that I was going to be buried again, but I wasn't. I was finally busted out of the brown paper

bag and I was surprised to meet all of these people.

There were  about 21 students all  together and around and

  there this lady/teacher was looking at me. After that a bell

rang and all the students ran out and played for and 1 hour.

  The Students came back and  I got placed on a  bule table

and waited for 17  minutes and got picked up again and carried 

by a student and she was playing with me and was looking at

me weirdly and she wrote about me and it was pretty cool.

Percentages- DIfferent Type of Percentages

 Today in class we did Percentages for math i thought that it was going to be hard but it was easy. A percent is One hundred. Did you know that   a percent can be a a rate, number, or amount in each hundred. It can even be a sign like 50% off at pak n save and at shoe store like this shoe is 30% off. I have done and activity about percentages, i have done three activities and  the most   one i liked was the first one  one because it was something new that i have learnt. Here is my Activities.

James Cook was thinking that that New Zealand was so big,so he sailed with Tupaia and went all around world. Saint Ignatius.

Today my class and i went to mass we learnt in mass there was saint that was a soldier and changed to serve God. Huis name is Saint ignatius, he was a soldier killing brothers and sisters of God . But then he want to serve God so he quit being a soldier and studied about serving God for 15 years. For so many years he was done studied for years , he became a priest. But he died on 31st of July in 1556. I did an facts files about him like his early life and all of the other thing's. Here is my activity.

Happy Birthday

 Today l have done my holiday writing. This piece of writing is about an birthday party. HAve you had an birthday party and wanted to do it all over again? Here is my activity. I hope you like it.

On the holiday I went to a birthday party, it was at my auntie house on Wednesday the 13th of July. It was my cousin's birthday party when she was turning five. She was so excited I was too for her. 

We got to the house we went inside and then we sat down, and sang happy birthday for her. She was shy. She blew the candles. We wished her a very good happy birthday, she opened her present and she got a unicorn toy it was so big she loved. She hugged it and put it in her room.

We ate tonga food and a drink and when we finished we had desserts. We all had finished when we were done eating. We grabbed a balloon and we played with them. After that we had a balloon fight there were teams there were balloons that were gery that was the gery team. There was also a blue team.   said “Ready Get Set Go” we all started. I was in the blue team. It was so fun.

We all wanted to watch youtube videos so we did and all of us were just tired but it was time to go. We all clean up and pack our food into the car. Then we had to say goodbye so we did. 

It was so amazing there. I wish we could do another birthday party again.

New skill

Today my teacher set an challenge for us to learn an new skill. My new skill is to bake/cook this is phase one . This activity is about questions of like why do you want to do this skill.
