Mele - PLants Creative Writing

Today in writing and Inquiry We used descriptive words and words that related to New Zealand Native Trees and plant, First I completed a 100 word challenge about my native tree. After that i made an slide activity about my native tree i working on. Here is my Activity and Writing.  

Mele Creative Writing 

I am a New Zealand Native Tree, my bark is dark brown and spiky at the bottom. If you feel my bark it will be very rough, my leaves are long,flat, green and spongy. My leaves will start to turn white  in three to four years. I really like the flowers that I have on me. They are White with a little yellow. They have a green stem, and if I am not grown yet I am purple. I can also grow up to 12 meters. You can find me near Streams and other wet

areas.

Mele - What tree & Leaves.

 Today in Inquiry, TWP 4 & 6 are learning about all Native Trees. We did an activity about what  different type of leaves and what tree they belong to, the other activity we did was what native tree is this. I worked with Aurora, and she was helping me understand the different kind of trees and leaves. I really had fun learning about Native Tree and leaves. Here is my Actives.




   

Mele - New Zealand Native Tree Project - Ponga Tree

 Today my group and I explored a Native Tree, and the Tree was an Ponga Tree.We are learning about New Zealand Native Trees, because it is important to all pacific islanders, and it can help us when we are sick. Some plants can be used for medicine like a Kawakawa, we did an activity about our Ponga tree, and explored all the different thing in it, I also made an word art .Here is my activities.

Mele - Group Evaluation!!!

 Today i filled out something about our group work and how we worked together on our diorama. I rated how we worked together, and what we can do to improve. Here it is.


  

Mele - Pentecost Graffiti Page Saint. Threase

 In RE Saint Threase Whanau Group,  made a Graffiti Page about Pentecost, If you don't know what Pentecost is, it's when the Holy Spirit comes down on the disciples and makes speck God word, with Courage. We all, found Key words about Pentecost and had fun. Here is our Graffiti Page.


 

Mele - Plants in a Different Environment.

 On Tuesday the 17th May, Saint Theresa Whanau Group, made a Diorama about  Mangroves Environment at Tahuna Torea, first we started to get the materials for the Diorama where was Tape, Gule, A box for our diorama, cardbroad, and coloured pieces of paper. Second we made mangroves which took a while but we did it, then we painted the box a sky blue and some clouds, then we started assemble everything, it came together, then we had some trouble but we snapped back , and not let that stop us, then we wrote some facts about the Mangroves, it really came together and  it looked amazing,after that we prepared for your presentation that we were about to have. If i was the Judge i would of said that we crushed it there. I was so proud of my Group up there, but maybe next time  we can just prepared just perpae little more. But we did an amazing job  up there. Here is an Picture of our AMAZING Diorama.

Mele - Body Part Mobil

 Today TWP 4  went to Life Education, and are learning about  body parts in our digest system, we all had to get facts about five different body parts in our system. When we got the five body parts, we wrote facts about them and what we know. I did that i had fun doing it learning new things, and learning about out System in our body. Here is a Picture.

Mele - Feelings and States Maori

 Today in Maori TWP 4 are learning sentences in Maori and the first Sentence was Ke Te  Pehea ... Ahua. We did this activity about the sentence and how to reply and we had to choose five classmates to reply and the reply was ke te Ora Ahau, and ora means well, and they had to pick of what they are feeling right now.We are all learning to express how we're feeling in te reo Māor. My five Classmates where Moala ,Maraia, Melenaite, Ana ,Krystal. After that i did a screencastify with all their voices and now i am blogging it. I hope you like it. Here is my Audio and Activity.

Mele - Maths Strategy

 Today in math i have been answering Multiplication questions, useing place value. Today's hard question was 54 x 5, first of what i did was separated 54 in a tidy numbers  50 and 4 then I draw 5 circles and put the number in them and then i do, 5 x 4 = 20 and then 5 x 50 = 250 and the 20 + 250 = 270.Therefore 54 x 5 is 270.

Mele - My Understanding about Ascension

 This week I have been learning about Jesu Ascension and what Ascension is. I have done an activity about what Ascension is. Here is my Activity  

Mele - Column A & B - Pentecost

Today in RE, TWP are working  on Jesus' Ascension and what we known about it . We had an activity to match columns, there were sentences that we had to match in column a and combined it with column b. We also had to create a storyboard of the main things that we had in the columns. Here is my activity!



1. Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey, 50 days before Ascension Day.   

2. On Thursday of the week that followed Palm Sunday, Jesus had his last meal with his Apostle.

3. The day after his last supper Jesus was put to death on  a cross on Carvely Hill. 4. Jesus  laid in the tomb for 3 days and then God raised him up.

5. After his resurrection Jesus showed himself to his friends and some of them that didn't recognize him.

6. He spent time with his apostle and told them that he was going to return to his Father.

7. 50 days after Palm Sunday Jesus was taken by God to share his glory in heaven.

8. Because Jesus entered heaven in glory he made it possible for his followers to do the same. 



Mele - Tahuna Tōrea Mind flow

 Today in Inquiring, TWP 4 did this activity about Plants and Tahuna Tōrea, we first went back to Tahuna Tōrea and imagined that we were there and went back to when we had our moment of awe. If you don't know what awe is, it means like a moment of wonder. We made an activity about it . Mele - Jesus's Ascension.

 Today in Religious Education ( RE ) TWP 4 are learning to recognise that Jesus promised a place for people i n Heaven. My whanau group St. Therese, has some year 5 and 6 in there, so I worked with Xavier, t get this activity done. The activity is about "What we know about Jesus Ascension", and the meaning of Ascension is like when Jesus went up into heaven, Ascension means up you go up in the sky.  I had fun working with Xavier and finishing this activity . Mele- Tahuna Torea Trip

Yesterday on the 10th of May TWP 4&6 went to Tahuna Torea Park and discovered the different Native Trees and plants, and how the Mangroves can survive the mud. We all had a fun time there, we search and discovered the areas of the Bush walk , Sand Dune and Mangroves. I really liked  how we wrote down every Native trees we saw and felt it,like if it was rough or soft. 

My favorite part about the trip was that we learnt more about trees and nature,and it can help me because we have been learning about Plants. Here is my Activities.

 Today in Class we have made an graffitied page about St. Therese. We chose her because she is an loving person and kind person that healed the sick. Mele - Amazing Plants Video.

 This week in Inquiry i have learnt some new words and meaning for them. I watched a video and got the most important words and foundx the meaning . Here are my Words 😃😃👍 

Autotroph - They make their own organic molecules,rather than getting them by eating other organisms. Photosynthesis - Photosynthesis

is a process by a green plant and their certain organisms,transforming light energy into chemical energy. Multicellular - More than one cell.

Mosses - A small flowerless green plant that

grows in damps. 

Terrestrial - Evolved on land.

Fern - A plant which has feathery or leafy frouns. 

Protesis - A single cell organism.

Conifer - A type of tree that bears cones

and needle like leaves. Seed Plants -A plant that produces seeds.

Mele - Trees Talk to each other.

 This  week i have been reading this article  about how "Trees Talk to Each Other". In this one study Suzanne Simard watch a Douglas Fir being attacked by insects and sent warning to pine tree and the the pine tree sent defense to the Douglas Fir and protective the Douglas Fir.Did you know that Trees can talk to each other in cooperative ways. I have learned new words and found the meaning to them, and I have retold part of the sorry if you want to read the whole article, Link. Here is my Writing.

Trees are social creatures, that can talk with each other in cooperative

ways, that hold lessons for humans, too, ecologist Suzanne Simard

say suzanne grew up in Canadian  forests, and then she became a

forest ecologist. She is now a professor at the University of British

Columbia.

Trees are linked into neighboring trees by an underground network

of Fungi. In one study Suzanne watched a Douglas Fir (a plant) that was

being attacked

by insects then in some way sent warning signals to a pine tree for

defense enzymes to protect the Douglas Fir against the insects.

Mele - Mothers Day

Today Saint Pius X Catholic School (SPX) and I had a very special mass, about Mothers Day, all the reader's came with their mum to read there part. It was very special to all the mother's and at the end Father Felise belled all the Mothers. 

This week  TWP 4 and I k and started working on our Mother's day writing, we all had to write ten things of what we appreciate about Mother, Nana,Consins, and then choose your top three and the in our tides handwriting we wrote it and i was proud of mine. 

We started Quilling our colour of paper, i really like the colour it was red,white pink and maroon, quilling is when you get a piece of paper and twirly the piece of paper and then glue it on the piece of paper. Here is a video Link.          

Here is my Writing , I appreciate my mum because, when I am sad or mad she makes me warm by giving me a hug. I know my mum loves me, because when I am facing hard times she helps get through them. I love my mum because she makes me feel loved and she support me in every choice I make. I appreciate my Nana because she surprises me, with gifts and makes me warm. I know my Nana loves because she helps me when I get hurt. I love my Nana because she loves me unconditionally.

Mele - Arapū Māori, the Māori alphabet

 Today in Māori we have reflected on yesterday's activity and remembered the letters in the Maori Alphabet, and the Digarhps, Vowels and Consonants. We also played this game called Memorised. The game is about how your test your knowledge on Māori and other cultures and try remember the words,Spelling and meaning of them like, Daughter of Daughters Tamahine (Sorry for the macaron).

Mele - Lesson 1 - Oropūare and Orokati, Vowels and Consonants.

Today in Māori TWP 4 ( Te Wairua Pakiki 4) and I have, remember the sounds of the letters of the Māori alphabet (arapū), and the letter combinations and stress patterns.We recognise and understand the simple, familiar spoken words,phased and sentences. Oropūare and Orokati,is made up with eight consonants,and five vowels and two digraphs. Digraphs is two sounds that merge together. It is really important for example Keke is Cake but kēkē is an armpit.  

TWP 4 and I have done an activity about Oropūare and Orokati,Digraphs, and the Consonants.I really had fun doing my first activity for the term. Here is a Song Link. Here is my Activity
