Mele - Cricket Writing

 Today for Writing I wrote an recount about Cricket. On Tuesday the 30th of November TWP 4 and TWP 6 played related game to cricket, we had fun play game about cricket and playing with each other.I hope you like my Writing and have an great day. Here is my Writing. 

On Tuesday 30th of November at 9:10, TWP 4 & TWP 6  did Cricket with our

two coaches Brodie and Matt from Auckland Cricket. When Twp 4 did cricket we

learnt the basics of cricket and how to catch and aim, we also learnt new skills.

The first skill we did was throw a ball into the sky and catch the ball with two hands

or one. This skill helps us with catching and aiming in the sky. When I looked around

all my other friends were throwing the ball the highest they could and some people

dropped the ball, but they tired again and again . This skill helps me with my aim in

the sky and my catching. 

The second game TWP 4 and TWP 6 did was get into groups of 4 and 5 and throw the

ball around the group and get up to 10 without dropping the ball. It was hard at

first but then we all got the hang of it. When we got up to 10 we added an extra 10

and did 20 without dropping the ball. Then the coaches stepped it up and we had to

throw the ball and catch it with one hand, and then do 20 catching the ball with one

hand. This game helps us with our throwing and catching skills.

The third game we did was to get into two groups, one group was all the grey shirts 

which were most of the boys and the other group was  all the colours. This game is

very cool and fun game the rules of the game was to throw the ball and the other

team has to catch the ball if they don’t catch the ball then whoever is the most

close is out or if the person who catches  the ball and drops the ball they are out,

I was on the colo. The First game the Grey team won the second game the color

team won but the the coaches did an tiebreaker game and the COLOUR TEAM WON. 

This game helps us with our throwing and catching. 

The final game we played was a fun game, this game is based on your aim and my

aim is not that good, but we went into four groups  and there were three poles we

had to knock down. The coaches yelled “READY,SET,GO”. The first pole was knocked

down then the 2nd but then we had trouble with the third one but we tried our best

team 1 won. This game helps you with aim and throwing.

 

At the end we all came together and talked about all the things we learnt and what

was new. I really liked playing cricket with my friends and practicing throwing and

catching and the games. I really think my friends liked it too. I would like to do more

cricket again.

Mele - Narrative Writing - Imaginary Writing - Turtle Home

For the past day i have been working on a piece of writing.  That writing is imaginary writing i watched  that was about how you can live on a animals back and i choose an turtle i chose a turtle because it gets slow and lives in water i  love the water and why i chose the turtle because it reminds me to take the day slw and to calm down. Mele - Writing - Father's Day

 Today for Writing i wrote about Father'd Day but we are in Lockdown but we still celebrated. I wrote about what i did. I also am going to share with you my card i made.Here is my Writing and Card

On Saturday  6th of September  I thought about Father's day, but as you all know that we are on lock down. But that didn’t stop me from making a card for my dad so I made a card online. On Sunday Morning i woke up and went into the lounge and sat down and everyone else came. After that all my siblings said their cards for our dad and we celebrated with a feed, and we were all happy. After that, Isitolo,Amhuti, Sia and I   went to the cemetery. I went to visit  my dad’s headstone and my mum’s dad's headstone. We stayed there for about 20 minutes, then we went back home and got some rest.

Before we Start Activity.

What are things that Make a great story?

A Great story needs a Great title,a Beginning,Middle and End. 

What is a Story that you find yourself going back to often.

I find myself going back to a comic book,because there is interesting information and pictures to go with the pictures.

What makes a bad story? What are some things authors should avoid when crafting a narrative?

What makes a bad story is that there is information that doesn't add up and there is no Beginning,Middle and End.  

What are Narratives?

Unlike other genres of writing narratives consist of many sub genres.Can you name any?

There is,Narrative,fiction,non fiction ,novel, mystery,horror,Fairytale,

Adventure,Comedy,Drama,Legend,Love story,Science fiction.

What does a narrative story look like?The Structure. 

First we have to have a beginning,like to introduce to all the characters what is going to happen and you can also use who,when and where in your introduction. Middle the middle is where it gets deeper and there is a problem and many events as much as you can imagine. Then there is the End,the end is when the preamble gets solved and everyone is happy but then something happens and then there is another book. But if not then everyone lives happily ever after.    

What does a Narrative story look like.Features.

The feature that a Narrative has to have is great Language. The language has to be good and it fits the story and it has to be descriptive for what you are going to say. Ather feature is Perspective, a perspective is when you write a story.But narratives are normally written in first or third person. There is also tension. If you are writing a story and you change the kind of tense perfectly clear to your people that are going to read the book it is good. Flashbacks are good but you have to translate it to your audience. There is one more and that is Dialogue, Dialogue is when a narrative changes form a narrator to first person.

Mele - Grammar - Verbs Activity 1 &2

 Today i completed an grammar activity. I learned more about verbs  and i did two activities that went with it. The first activity was about matching the nouns and verbs,Describing a picture and What do you do in school and on Break. The second activity is about What is happening in the picture, What you are doing in school and Break and Finding verbs in a story. 

These activities took long but it was worth it because, i learned something and i hope that you can, learn something to. I  think that you guys out their will like it.

Mele - Holiday Recount Writing.

 This Week i have been working on my recount for the holidays. I wrote a recount on what i did in the holidays but there were many things i did but i went with the movies  my family and i went to watch the new fast and furious 9.I really like the new movie because there were a lot of cars and fighting, i hope you like my recount.

Here is my Writing.

In the holidays on the 23rd of July my family and I went to the movie theater in Sylvia Park to watch the new Fast and Furious 9. When we arrived at Sylvia Park it was a sunny day and we were all excited to watch the new Fast and Furious 9. We had to walk a long way to go up the escalator. When we went up it was so cool because there were a lot of movies that were playing. 

The first thing we did was go to the arcade. When we all went to the arcade, we were so delighted because there were a lot  of games and prizes to play and win. My cousin Paula went to the arcade and we won lollies. After that we played games with each other and we had the most fun ever. Finally we went and sat down and we talked about what we were getting from the snack area  and we all paired up and got one popcorn each and went to go get our drinks too. After that we went and paid for our tickets and entered the cinema.   

When we all entered the cinema, we didn’t know that we got front row seats. We sat down and when that movie started playing the screen was so gigantic. My favorite part of the movie was when Dom (the main character) was being attacked by a group of bad people and his brother who is John Cena who played Jacob, and then Dom found out that he was the leader of the very bad people and there was this bridge and Dom and his team was supposed to go over it. But then it broke and then Jacob with his  fast and bule car went over the cliff and then this plane came and then picked him up with strong magnets.

After that brillant movie we exited the cinema and we went and waited for my brother Sateki and my cousin Thomas because they went and wasted another movie. Finally they came back and we went home happy.

Mele - Green Ghana Current Events.

 Today for Reading we did another Current events. This current event is about this small country  near the equator. I did an activity the activity was about  looking at the cules and trying to find out the word and then i spelled a word out. I did some writing also about Green Ghana and learnt some new words to.

The main people  in this news article i read is the African people and the UK conley.The key event from the news article was Green Ghana. The phrase Green Ghana means  “Green Warrior King''. This event took place in Green Ghana which is the smallest country near the equator. This event happened on the 17th of June.

Mele - PLants Creative Writing

Today in writing and Inquiry We used descriptive words and words that related to New Zealand Native Trees and plant, First I completed a 100 word challenge about my native tree. After that i made an slide activity about my native tree i working on. Here is my Activity and Writing.  

Mele Creative Writing 

I am a New Zealand Native Tree, my bark is dark brown and spiky at the bottom. If you feel my bark it will be very rough, my leaves are long,flat, green and spongy. My leaves will start to turn white  in three to four years. I really like the flowers that I have on me. They are White with a little yellow. They have a green stem, and if I am not grown yet I am purple. I can also grow up to 12 meters. You can find me near Streams and other wet

areas. 

Mele - Trees Talk to each other.

 This  week i have been reading this article  about how "Trees Talk to Each Other". In this one study Suzanne Simard watch a Douglas Fir being attacked by insects and sent warning to pine tree and the the pine tree sent defense to the Douglas Fir and protective the Douglas Fir.Did you know that Trees can talk to each other in cooperative ways. of Fungi. In one study Suzanne watched a Douglas Fir (a plant) that was

by insects then in some way sent warning signals to a pine tree for

Mele - Mothers Day

Today Saint Pius X Catholic School (SPX) and I had a very special mass, about Mothers Day, all the reader's came with their mum to read there part. It was very special to all the mother's and at the end Father Felise belled all the Mothers. 

This week  TWP 4 and I k and started working on our Mother's day writing, we all had to write ten things of what we appreciate about Mother, Nana,Consins, and then choose your top three and the in our tides handwriting we wrote it and i was proud of mine. 

We started Quilling our colour of paper, i really like the colour it was red,white pink and maroon, quilling is when you get a piece of paper and twirly the piece of paper and then glue it on the piece of paper. Here is a video Link.          

Here is my Writing , I appreciate my mum because, when I am sad or mad she makes me warm by giving me a hug. I know my mum loves me, because when I am facing hard times she helps get through them. I love my mum because she makes me feel loved and she support me in every choice I make. I appreciate my Nana because she surprises me, with gifts and makes me warm. I know my Nana loves because she helps me when I get hurt. I love my Nana because she loves me unconditionally.

Mele - Proper Nouns Activity 1 & 2 .

Today i have done two activity on Proper Nouns, the first activities were called Best Friends , Just the Best,Around New Zealand and City Chain. City Chan is when someone puts cities in a whole chain and then you figure it out. The 2nd lot of activities are called Capital for All,Sorting Nouns, Every Month and Seek and find, Seek and find is when someone does an wordsearch for you and then you figure out what movie,girls name,boy name, Another word for New Zealand and a Soft drink. This activity was fun and long but here am i. Here is my activity.  

 

Mele - Common Nouns Activity 2 .

Today i have done an another activity about Common nouns , as you have seen or not seen my previous post which you should see it is just like this one. Today's activitys are called Favourite Food,Colour the Shapes ,Sports oval and Spring Flowers, the color shapes are when you colour the shapes that are nouns, and the Spring Flowers activity is when you figure out the flower in secret. Today i have reaferst my mind and have been focusing on nouns, if you don't know what nouns are they people,places,and animals. I have done five activities in one google drawing, these five activities are called My stuff,Naming names, Creature Nouns,Family Names and Public places, and all the yellow boxes, are the correct answers. Mele - Pools of Fun.

Today i have written about my holiday and how i had so much fun. This was a blast to write it and i hope that i could write an another story just like this. Here is my Writing

On Monday 6 the 2 / 2/2020 it was a sunny day  and hot day, my sister sia and her friend cara decided to go to the panmure pools  so i invited my cousin and my brothers, there names are Thomas , Huti and Sateki. We went to pack clothes and snacks and our clothes for after our swim, when we were finished packing  we were off. When we got there  we waited in line to get our wristbands, for the slide and inflatable. We went to the outside pool. We found a nice place to set up, and we jumped into the freezing cold pool.  

The first fun thing we did was  play 4 rounds of volleyball. The teams were Thomas, Sateki and Huti vs. Sia, Cara and me. The first round winners were the boys team. The second round winners were the girls. Then we had a tie. It was all up to this final round the girls team served and then the boys hit it back and Sia  jumped and did a strike and the girls team won. The second most enjoyable  thing we did was go down the silde, the slide big blue and fun  first we had to walk up the big walk up thing we got to the tap and me and my sister sia went  at the same time and cara came along to. After that we had so much fun that we were so hungry we went and ate chips and cookies and listened to music. 

After that we went for an litel swim and then we went to the showers and showed and then we got into our change of clothes and then we went off. We got back home an we went straight to sleep. The End.

RainBow End - Times With friends - Recount Writing Trem 4

Today during class we had a recount writing test. This writing test is a recount and the topic was times with your friends so i picked when i went rainbow end with my two friends Sia and Tomas. I planed on a piece of paper  and wrote my story on my netbook. I really had fun writing this. Here is my piece of Writing.   

On Thursday the 1st of october my friends Sia, Tomas and I went to Rainbow End. We hopped in the red car that my aunty was going to dive,  she was the one that drove us, it took 20 minutes to get there. When we got there  we saw the huge sign that said ‘RainBow End.’ We took some picture’s there. I was really excited to go on all of the rides and see what new rides they have or not . We went inside and got our wristbands and we entered to see all of the rides.

The first thing that we did was we went on a ride the ride called  the Log Flume. The Log Flume goes on a  journey through the Enchanted Forest, and makes sure you are ready for the plunge at the end! When we went down I got wet but Sia, Tomas and I  still had fun.  The next thing that we did we went on another ride that was Gold Rush it goes through a haunted gold mine dodging with falling beams and we went on that ride and in the end there was this humorous explosion.

Later we were going to go on another ride but then i semlled hot chips and cotton candy so i asked Sia “ can we go get some hot chips and cotton candy” she said “ sure we can'' so we went and receive the hot chips and cotton candy we came by a table and we went and sat down and ate  our hot chips and cotton candy. After That  we went on another ride it was called the Power Surge the power surge goes  around and around and around and then it speeds up and speeds up again until you are up in the air sipping as fast as you can. I almost passed out on that ride, then we went on the Ivander the invader is a thrilling ride that’s sure to get you up! 

Finally  we had enough rides for today so we went back home showered and went to sleep. I loved  all of the rides that we went on. I even loved the food and the most thing I loved was hanging out with my friends. I would really love to go there again. The End

As I Saw It Create Writing - The Life of the Paintbrush On the Endeavour.

Today i have written and Create piece of Writing, let me tell you how i felt about writing this. I felt like i was in my own world and that i was the paintbrush in tupaia hand. I was the paintbrush that Tupaia borrowed from Sydney Parkinson. Here is my Create Writing

It was a day that I haven't forgotten. I am a paintbrush.

I am used to painting famous  paintings.

I have been buried under the sand for 251 years

at Mercury Bay. 251 years ago I was  getting carried

by a human. He had brown skin, his hair was smooth and

cool, and I think he was Māori. I felt his hands pick me

up and he carried me to a canvas and started painting.

When he was finished I thought it was a picture of

Māori trading Kōura. I was so tired I went to sleep and

when I woke up I heard a big cannon go off. “BOOM!” I

flew off the table.

I woke up and realised I was laying down on the sand at

Mercury Bay. I remembered how I was buried.

When the cannon went off my person hid me so I could be

safe. After 215 years I was acquired by a human figure

who put me into the Auckland Museum. Next thing I know

I was put in a brown bag with other objets.

I saw four blue glass beads, a mirror and all

sotros of other things, and went for a long

ride then we stopped at Saint Pius X Cathioclic School

 I got off thinking that I was going to be buried again, but I wasn't. I was finally busted out of the brown paper

bag and I was surprised to meet all of these people.

There were  about 21 students all  together and around and

  there this lady/teacher was looking at me. After that a bell

rang and all the students ran out and played for and 1 hour.

  The Students came back and  I got placed on a  bule table

and waited for 17  minutes and got picked up again and carried 

by a student and she was playing with me and was looking at

me weirdly and she wrote about me and it was pretty cool.

Golden Child

On a Tuesday at  11:50 my class and I went into the courts to have basketball. Room five was playing on  the court so we had to go on the sideline. then they finished finally we had to go in the centre of the courts.The coach said  bounce and catch the ball then he said throw the ball high and catch it.
 Finally we played a game of golden child these were the rules you are not allowed to stop when the other team gets a goal in the hoop. When the golden child is released you can go and make it at the end of the race and the your team wins. Finally we went back to class
