Mele - Journey Through Holy Week 2021

 This week is a very special week for us here at St. Pius X Catholic School. This Holy Week is not intended to "walk down memory lane" with our heads. Rather, it is an invitation to become closer with Jesus. Journey and to make connections with our own journey in our heart, mind, and soul. My station was Station 5, my station was abou From The Garden of Gethsemane Jesus was taken to high priests and Judges, the pilate condemned death to Jesus and he carried his cross to calvary and on the way he saw his mother,that is what happened on The Journey To calvary Today my group,Mele,Avray,Moala and i have created slides about all the Stations of the Cross and explain  that symbols  and the story.  Here is our Activity.

Mele - Iceland’s effusive eruption

 Iceland’s effusive eruption.

Glossary - fissure - a long, narrow opening or line of breakage made by cracking or splitting, especially in rock or earth.

The main group in this article” Iceland Effusive Eruption” written by New Academic are the people of Iceland,the key event in this article was a volcano that has not been activated over 800 years eruption on the 19th of March. The article that I read took place in Iceland, Iceland in the northern hemis and there are 330,000 people that live there. This happened at 8:55 19th of March 2021. 

Pablo Picasso Art - Cubism Final Drawing .

 Last month we began our cubes in protaras on Pablo cubism art. Cubism art is like when you drop something and cant put it together, but you use yourself and can play around with shapes, with you Facial Features like yu eyes,mouth,and ears can be in different places. We did one practice drawing before  we completed our Final drawing( you can read my blog with the steps and pictures Practice drawing). 

Something i found difficult was letting and drawing free, because i was drawing it perfect but i learned to let it go, What i interesting is that Pablo Picasso has 23 words in his name. Fun fact is he started painting at 7 and completed his first painting at the age of 9.

For this picture i wanted to focus on  drawing free and making things different shapes and in different places, to blend the colours and to mess around with the colors too. Here is my Final Picture.

Mele - The Legend of Tūmatauenga (Tū).

Today i have studied and read articles and  reading about Tūmatauenga  (Tū), Tū is the maori (i am sorry i couldn't  get the macaron) God of War,Tū was the brother who separated their parents Ranginui (Sky Father) Papatuanuku (Earth Mother)(i am sorry i couldn't  get the macaron). 

I really like this activity because i got to learn interesting facts and learn about Tū. I think that you will like it to. Here is My Activity. 

 

Mele - Cybersmart Challenge 7 - Google Draw a Fish

 Today i have learnt how to make a fish using google drawing and Shapes!!!. I have done another Cybersmart Challenge the number for today is 7. It was about using Google drawing more confidently and using our toolbar to.The toolbar is where you can insert a image,change the colour of your writing  and More!!!. I really liked this activity because i got to play around with the colours and the shapes of the fish. Here is my activity.  

Mele - A Time for Renewal

 Today for RE i have done an activity that is Reflected on Renewal, Renewal means when something grow back. Lent is a season for Prayer, Fasting and Almsgiving Lent also prepares us for the feast of Easter, People use Lent  as a time to Renew their Relationship with God and another Penitential season is Advent. I really loved these two activities, activity two was about awarding these four questions about Renewal. I really think that you will love these activities. Here are my Activities.

Mele - Wonderopolis - The Devil Kettle

Today i have completed an Wonderopolis article about The Devil Kettle,These was about these water that was disappearing water  and that it appears at the Mississippi River and the Canadian Rivers, isn't so interesting. But i really like looking in to it , it even says there might be an underground tunnel that leads to the    Mississippi River and the Canadian Rivers. I really like this activity. Mele- Tidy Drive - Cybersmart Challenge 6

Today for Cybersmart have done an other Cybersmart Challenge, The Challenge is number is 6 it was about tidying your drive and more!!. I really like how i got to clean out Johns Drive and put thing in the right folder that was on o the three activities. I really enjoyed clean my drive and i think you can clean out yours to. Mele - Wonderopolis - How Were Rubber Bands Invented.

This week i have been looking at this website called Wonderpoils,  wonderopolis is a site that has many interesting articles, and more!!!. The article that i have read in How Were Rubber Bands Invented, i read or you can listen. There are these words that i didn't understand and i went over is and there was an definition fr it, that how COOL wonderopolis is.

Mele - Dinosaurs Timeline

 Today in Science TWP 4 and I have been looking at Dinosaurs that were here before us. Today we are studying three types of dinosaurs,  Cretaceous, Jurassic, Triassic. Did you know that there were no dinosaurs at the time that the Triassic period came , and that in Cretaceous period came there where still thing that are here today like , Bees , Butterflies,ants,grasshoppers and Aphids.

I really like how i found interesting facts about these three dinosaurs and how i got to write about them to you. I really think if you like science and if you don't, still have look and think that it is interesting. Here is my activity.

  

Mele - The Land of the Voyages - Part 2.

Sorry that i haven't been posting because the wifi at SPX has been down for awhile and i am at home so i can do some blogging!!!. Last Week my group Maraia, Jonah, Solomon and I have been working on sme reading activities that is called The Land of the Voyages, this has four parts we got part two. Part two is about How did Kupe/Good person know, this activity might be little confusing but i will explain it, so there are four prates in part two, i did activity 2 with my Friend Jonah, we did the activities Follow the Birds and Moon Shot, I did Follow the Birds and Jonah did Moon Shot, Follow the bird wasn't that easy there was this long piece of writing, nut i did like when we had to write it in our on words.

I really liked this activity i did and how jonah helped me and i helped him  and worked we worked together. I think yu guy will like this , you won't know until you see it . Here it it is.              

Mele - Gender Ground Rules.

This week for Writing/Reading i have been working on this project that is called Gender Grund Rules. Basically, i have been doing activities that include men and women. I read this Comic Stirp  that was aboout this girl Charlie she didn't believe herself that she can't d this math homework and she said

 " Boys are better at Math and Geometry", then her friend Monique sted i and said "Do you need help" and Charlie said "yes". So then the worked on the math and she did it , Charlie said " You can do anything if you put your mind to it". I really loved that part because she gave Charlie encouragement that she could d anything if she put her mind to it. The activities I did was answer 4 questions about the story, MAke and Venn diagram about two female people that became successful, and make a Poster to encogment woman to keep on doing on what they are doing and never to give up. I really enjoyed  making the poster the most because i get put key words in there to encourage woman/girls to follow their dreams. I think yu will love it to. Check out my activities

Mele - Math Starters - Addition Pyramid

 Today i have completed an math starter, todays math starter is an Addition Pyramid. The Addition Pyramid was a pretty easy task , i think that i need to be more challenged and  it can get harder if you see any mistakes than you can comment and say that i did this wrong and i an fix it up.   

The one thing that i found hard was where to put the numbers i forget where to put the 1 and the 0 for 10in decimal (1.0). Other than that i think I know that you will like this activity I put together. Vheck out my Activity Below. 

Mele - Ki O Rahi

We have played Ki O Rahi and we have been working about the legend of Ki O Rahi. Rahi married a beautiful girl named Ti Ara. The Patupaiarehe visited the village that Rahi lived in. The Patupaiarehe took Ti Ara and Rahi tried to save Ti Ara. He had to go through some obstacles which are positions in the real game. The name's of the obstacles are Tupu , Te Roto, Te Ao,Nag Pou, Pawero, Te Ara,Te Marama and Te Wairua. The teams are kioma and taniwha, Kioma is the team that runs and touches the poles and then g to the middle and score a point, taniwha is the team that try to hit the tupu and score a point but there are protectors to try and stop the key (Ball) to hit the tupu. I think that this game it great and that it i really productive and make you body moving, i know that you will love this game. I i think you will love this this activity i Everly, Meela , Sani , Audrey Jasma Solomone and I. We read the story behind Ki O Rahi and we read 3 parts each and rewrite it in our own words. Mele - Things About My Soul Friend.

 This week St Pius X Catholic school has been doing Soul Friends for over around 10 years. My soul friend is Fanofa. i like Fanofa because she is a happy kid, she like to play and have fun and  a Tonga girl. I really like her because she isn't afraid to speak and to say no to me. I really like her and i think that she is going to be a great leader one day when she grows up. Fanofa  made me a prayer card with my name on it, i really liked and how she thought about me. I really liked her card , i think you would to. Here is it.

 

Mele - Soul Friends Mass.

 Today for Saint Pius X School(SPX) we had a special mass. SPX celebrated three occasions,Ash Wednesday, St Patricks and Soul Friends. We horner St Patricks who is the patron of the Irish and the Holy Faith Sisters who started our school. More than sixty years ago,who were from ireland . They Brought  with them the beautiful ideas of Sul Friends.

Soul friend's mean they look out for each other like, when you see you soul friend and something i hanging out of there bags you go and help them out and put in back in there bags. You always look out for each other, care for each other and love each other. That my opinion what Soul Friends are.

 I created a DLO and made a grahed page about Soul friend , Saint Patrick's and Ash Wednesday, The only reason we did Ash Wednesday because we were in lockdown. I think you will really like this activity. Here it is.

Mele - Prayer to the Holy Spirit.

This week i have done an activity about praying to the Holy Spirit, this activity about when you choose a prayer that you have to work on and why you choose it. I choose Self control and Peace, because i  need to build on my self control and Peace to stop people fighting and make people make Peace, and my self control , and to control our actions and to make good choices. Mele - Math Starters & Activity.

 Today i have done an math starter and a math activity, my math starter for today was a number of the Day, I found it hard to understand the questions hard to read but my friends helped me and i got through it. Even if i didn't do my best i am going keep on trying until i get it, my message is to never give up when time are hard like this one. My math activity was about explaining two  questions that you found hard and  make an video of you explaining the Strategy you used, i really loved how you make the video, and how i got to share with you. Mele - Cybersmart Challenge 5 - Chromebook Webcam.

 Today  i have done another Cybersmart Challenge, today challenge is Challenge 5, Challenge 5 is about you creating something like a drawing ,painting r anything else, and then , making a google drawing and then take picture for what you a creating and then fill in the steps. I really like this activity because you can draw anything you want. This activity took so long i hope you like it. Here is my activity Below.

Mele - The America's Cup

 The America’s Cup was a tight race ,the main people in this article that I have read that Jimmy Spithill, the Captain of Italian Team, came in 2nd place in 7 seconds. The Emirates Team New Zealand came in First Place in 31 one seconds. The key event was the Emirates Team New Zealand vs Italian Team races for The America Cup, this took place Waitematā.This happened Wednesday March 10th,Race 3 and 4 is going to be on Friday the 12th of March,here is a vide to. Pablo Picasso Art - Cubism Drawing 1.

Yesterday,the 9th of March Te Wairua Pakiki 4 (TWP4) and I did some art, that is based on Pablo Picasso. Pablo Picasso is a Paint Maker, Sculptor, Printmaker and storts of other things to. Pablo Picasso  is on of the Greatest most influential artists of the 20th Century, Pablo Picasso is known for his Cubism along with Georges Braque.Pablo Picasso  was born on the 25 of October in 1881,in Malaga Spain.Cubism art is like when you drop a plant and you put it back together, but with an person.Your facial features like your nose, eyes, mouth and ears can be put in different places and can be different shapes.   

When TWP 4 and I looked at other people's Picasso art and we notice that there were lots of colors,shapes,patterns,and that Pablo Picasso use different peoples faces and use random things like guitars.   

After our teacher demonstrated and we saw lots and lots of peoples Pablo Picasso art, and then it was ur turn, i really like how we could do anything and just draw free and draw different shapes. If you want to see my picture. Check it out Below.

     

International Women's Day.

 On the 8th of march it was International Women's Day, in our class we did an activity  to challenge the stereotypes  and the bias of both male and female roles  within our society. We first had to get in to pair or group, we then wrote down the positive thing about being a male and the challenge's about being a male. We Are Learning To understand the history of the struggle for the gender parity and to challenge stereotypes and the bais .

Something that i notice is that they are very different, women had more challenges , like raising kids and cleaning,and one positive is have is men can play any type of sports and get paid big. One thing  that was hard is finding the challenge's for being men, and one easy thing that i did is doing the positives of being men.

What i have learnt is that Men and Women aren't equal.

Mele - Proper Nouns Activity 1 & 2 .

Today i have done two activity on Proper Nouns, the first activities were called Best Friends , Just the Best,Around New Zealand and City Chain. City Chan is when someone puts cities in a whole chain and then you figure it out. The 2nd lot of activities are called Capital for All,Sorting Nouns, Every Month and Seek and find, Seek and find is when someone does an wordsearch for you and then you figure out what movie,girls name,boy name, Another word for New Zealand and a Soft drink. This activity was fun and long but here am i. Here is my activity.  

 

Mele - Common Nouns Activity 2 .

Today i have done an another activity about Common nouns , as you have seen or not seen my previous post which you should see it is just like this one. Today's activitys are called Favourite Food,Colour the Shapes ,Sports oval and Spring Flowers, the color shapes are when you colour the shapes that are nouns, and the Spring Flowers activity is when you figure out the flower in secret. Today i have reaferst my mind and have been focusing on nouns, if you don't know what nouns are they people,places,and animals. Mele - Great Big Hearing Check.

 Today TWP 4 and I did an test this test was about your hearing and did you know,  that this March,you can check your hearing for FREE to help raise awareness for hearing loss in New Zealand and we’ll donate $1 to National Foundation for Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and it really does work 973 people donated 1$ to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing . Mele - What is a Trilobite?

Today we are learning about Trilobite, and where they were living when they become extinct and sort of other, interesting stuff about them. I have done some research on trilobite and i think they are cool. If you want to learn more, Check out My activity.

Today we are learning to explain the meaning of receiving the ashes, at the celebration of the Eucharist or in a special ceremony on Ash Wednesday, Identify at least one purpose of Lent. Today in Math i have been answering Addition and Subtraction Problems  and Reversibility.
